To celebrate national Heritage Day, also known as ‘Braai Day’, and to mark the official re-launch of the Lanzerac Hotel & Spa, we will be hosting a special dining experience, showcasing a wide selection of unique dishes cooked over open flames, from each of our dining venues.

Guests will be welcomed with a glass of Lanzerac MCC and canapés and can spend the day savouring wholesome food prepared over open coal by our Lanzerac chefs, whilst roaming between the newly renovated Manor Kitchen, Taphuis and Craven Lounge.

In the Manor Kitchen, guests will be treated to classic dishes reimagined with a modern twist, the Craven Lounge will serve tapas-style fare, and those who stop by the Taphuis can enjoy Angus Ale beer and slowly roasted gourmet style pub plates. The private dining venue will be showcasing the estates’ fine cuisine specialities. There will also be a kids’ station available on the day.

In addition, Heritage Day revellers can enjoy their favourite Lanzerac wines and MCC in the luxurious outdoor wine lounge set up on the lush lawns, or artisanal gin from the pop-up bar in the Governors Hall.

Expect fresh, seasonal produce and great wine, along with mesmerising music from a cellist who will be performing from within a beautiful bubble beneath the magnificent mountains that surround the estate. Setting the tone for the event will be music from CODA Africa’s saxophonist, who will wander through the audience performing jazz standards, along with well-known contemporary numbers. Plus, there will be a special photo wall where Instagrammers can snap memories of the occasion.
