The Lady Anne Courtyard
The Governors Hall Restaurant opens onto the private and exclusive Lady Anne Courtyard, where breakfast, lunch and evening drinks can be enjoyed. The Lady Anne Courtyard is an elegant Mediterranean-styled courtyard complete with a gravelled terrace, wrought iron seating and colonial canvas umbrellas. Cocktail events are able to flow into the Lady Anne Courtyard, which can be covered by a Bedouin tent.
The courtyard is named after Lady Anne Barnard who was an accomplished artist in the 18th and 19th centuries. Her works include oil paintings and drawings. She spent five years in Cape Town, which although brief, had a significant impact on the cultural and social life of the time.
